It’s frequently said that most small businesses fail in the first year. These classes will help participants identify the steps to take and how to test an idea and plan for their business.

The first workshop “What you Need to Know to Start a Business” will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Lakeshore Technical College, located at 3620 Wilgus Ave, Sheboygan, Wis. This class will explore what it takes to start a business, the personality and skills set needed, as well as the importance of planning for the business.

On Tuesday, Oct. 10, the three-part series for completing a business plan will be launched. The format includes lectures, discussions and breakout sessions, along with “hands on” coaching during the workshops. Mentors will continue one-on-one coaching between and after workshops until completion of each participant’s business plan.

The three-part series begins on Tuesday, Oct. 10, followed by Tuesday, Oct. 24, and Tuesday, Nov. 14.

All classes are offered at Lakeshore Technical College in Sheboygan and will run from 6-9 p.m. with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. There is fee of $35 for each session and $20 for a second attendee.
